Limited Warranty Terms and Conditions
Terms version: GLA-LW-2026.1
These Limited Warranty Terms and Conditions (the "Agreement") apply to the limited warranty offered by GLACERA HVAC ("GLACERA", "we", "us" or "our") for the registered products shown in this Warranty Registration Confirmation. They supplement rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Eligible GLACERA products receive the Base limited Parts and Compressor warranty stated in the applicable Product Model policy. Registration at glacerahvac.com on or before the deadline shown in this confirmation assigns the applicable Within-window term. Registration after that deadline remains valid but receives the Base term. The assigned duration, start date and expiry date printed for each item in this confirmation form part of this Agreement.
1. Warranty Coverage
GLACERA warrants covered product parts and the compressor against failure resulting from defects in materials or workmanship during normal use and maintenance for the term assigned to the registered item. Coverage starts on the original Installation Date shown in this confirmation. Labour, diagnosis, travel, freight, refrigerant and other service costs are not included unless separately confirmed in writing under an eligible plan.
2. Professional Installation
This limited warranty applies only to systems professionally installed and commissioned by an appropriately certified and licensed contractor in accordance with applicable codes, permits, GLACERA installation instructions and accepted trade practice.
3. Original Installed Location
This limited warranty applies only while the product remains at its original installed location, unless GLACERA confirms otherwise in writing.
4. Warranty Period and Product Identification
The Base or Within-window period, Registration Deadline and expiry date are determined separately for each registered item and are shown in this confirmation. The limited warranty is void if the product serial identification tag is removed or defaced so that the unit cannot be reliably identified.
5. Exclusions
This limited warranty does not cover damage, failure or loss resulting from:
- flood, lightning, fire, wind or other acts of nature;
- installation or operation in a chemically corrosive or otherwise unsuitable environment;
- improper matching of product components;
- improper sizing, application or system design;
- inadequate airflow or air supply;
- use of incompatible components or accessories;
- unauthorized modification or incorporation into another product or system;
- power failure, abnormal voltage, interruption, blown fuse, open circuit breaker or incorrect or inadequate electrical service;
- accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, improper installation, improper service or improper operation;
- leaking, broken, restricted or frozen piping, or restricted drain lines; or
- failure to perform routine maintenance specified in the applicable installation or operating manual.
6. Refrigerant
The cost to recover, replace, refill or dispose of refrigerant, including the refrigerant itself, is not covered under this limited warranty unless GLACERA confirms otherwise in writing.
7. Proof of Purchase and Registration
Proof of purchase through an authorized GLACERA sales channel, the product serial number and this Warranty Registration Confirmation must be provided when making a claim.
8. Replacement Parts
Warranty replacement parts must be supplied or approved by GLACERA. Damage caused by an unauthorized or incompatible replacement part is not covered.
9. Excluded Accessories
Accessories and installation materials, including condensate pumps, line sets, line-set covers, stands, disconnects, thermostats and similar items, are not covered unless expressly identified as covered in writing.
10. Electricity or Fuel Costs
Electricity or fuel costs, increases in such costs, and additional or unusual use of supplemental heat are not covered.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GLACERA is not liable for incidental, indirect, consequential or special damages arising from the use, performance, failure, removal or replacement of a product. Nothing in this Agreement limits a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
12. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the province or territory in Canada where the product is installed and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
13. Severability and Entire Agreement
If a provision of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law. This Agreement, the Product Model policy snapshot and the item-specific coverage shown in this confirmation constitute the limited-warranty terms for the registered product. If they conflict, the item-specific coverage shown in this confirmation controls for duration and dates, subject to applicable law.
